Car air ride tank as hobby compressor tank?

I am contemplating putting together a hobby airbrush rig, with a small Aerostyle lab type compressor at the core.
There are some Audi brand air ride alloy tanks up for sale, marked at 17.5 bar, at far less than the cost of commercial vessels and the size is more practical.
It would need a prv somewhere along the lines.
I could use a fire extinguisher as a reservoir tank, but to make it a bit nicer and portable, would a car air ride res work ok?

The setup will also need a non-return valve, pressure switch, and dump valve though, for the latter, leakage past the compressor might be enough.

Did you get any further with your build?

I am looking to do the same, I had 4 co2 refill bottles, 2 became a rocket stove and 1 is being repurposed for an air brush reservoir, other us still part full and a shame to waste! I currently have a spare tyre as a reservoir!

this all depends on you but there is 1" framing that has been used as the compressor tank itself whilst the motor is within it

the compressor tank dosnt have to be round and simple as it is round pipe with cap end on the end is just as good

if you take a good look at a gas bottle the shape is easy enough to make up

I think my wifes A6 has a weird shaped air tank for the air susp.
