Did anybody watch the latest episode where they got a Datsun 240Z back on the road?
Two things that I noticed. First just how fat Fuzz Townshend has got. And second, when he used the heat inductor to remove that stud. I have one of them and in the instructions it tells you to only give the stud/nut about 5 secs of heat and not to get it red hot like he did. The couple of times I have had to use mine the 5 secs worked no problem!

No I didn't watch it, but i expect it looked better to have the stud glowing rather than not.

yeah and I bet he had a hard luck story so he was unable to do it himself......if only I had a hard lucky story I could try and get my Herald rebuilt. Some of these people do appear to have enough wealth to have the car rebuilt if they really wanted to.

He is a bit spare in the series imo.

Lots of horror stories online about that dipping place, cars coming back with big creases in from careless forklift drivers and the acid getting stuck in the seams which carry on rotting after the shell has been painted.

Be interested to see what Fozz's welding is like!

And yes Tim Shaw is a bit cringe

I agree with Stevo3002, No good listening to a sob story from the family that wants the car restoring for their ill-health relative, when it is obvious that they could have easily paid for it to be done if it meant so much.

Still better than some of the amurican shows where a nice old car gets a playstation, widescreen TV, popcorn maker fitted. Great engineering but tasteless!
I enjoyed "A car is reborn", at least they showed the grimy bits, although the budget was only to dream of.

dont mind watching it , would be even better if they cut the sob story and tim messing about trying to "fool" a parts seller into a huge discount every week

id question if some of the owners are even fit to drive on the road , some seem not long for this world with nasty illnesses , regardless i dont think it helps the show bleating on about poor old so n so and how sick they are , car guys just want to see the oily bits , like last nights volvo a real basket case but what did they show of the refurb , almost nothing !

There is a new series running, the one with the P1800s, there is also an older series of repeats running at the same time, but earlier in in the evening, this has recently shown the SP250

There's a lot go on behind the scenes, when they made the first UK version of Storage Hunters, the producers posted on the model railway forums for a layout (trainset) they could hire/borrow for the buyers to "find" in one of the lockups.
