Carb balancer

As the title im after a carb balancer in the past i used to use a carbtune which was brilliant for carbs and throttle bodies before i order another one is their anyother ones to consider

I thought the tube the Newall scale came in would do but not quite long enough sadly

easy solution buy a longer scale

Don't need one but if you want you can buy me some supported round rail and I will use the tube it comes in to post the ball screws to you

That's the new-fangled modern Carbtune; I have the pre-risk-assessment days model with mercury in the tubes Bought by an ex when I had a Suzuki Katana 550, about 1992...

but when I was tought to tune up DCOE Webers we used a rubber hose to listen to......hahaha....

I just bought one of those for balancing the throttle bodies on my BMW bike. I was convinced they were miles out, as it stumbles and surges at bit at lower rpm, something lots of riders complain about, but the Carbtune showed it to be almost dead on. I’m not sure exactly how sensitive it is.

I have considered setting it up mounted temporarily above the speedo, so I can ride the bike and see how much it reads out at real highway use. 3000 rpm in the garage is a tiny bit of throttle compared to 60mph on the road.

I also need one for setting up the 250's carb, expensive things! Might have to make a diy version as I hope to only need it the once.
The carbtune website does say no mercury or liquids, so is it solid bar that moves?

It depends on what you're going to use it on, and how frequently. If you want to get the most from it and use it fairly frequently then you want the gauge type rather than the manometer type. First and formost because the gauges are much more accurate, and secondly because they'll give you more information on each individual cylinder, valve condition for example.

Only one type i will use and that's the Davida sets...Heavily dampened and insane quality. i got a set of them given .the gauges are ok but they need new rubber tubes
