Hi all,
Considering gaining some tickets in mma welding, with a view to perhaps one day earning a living from it. From research I’ve seen “the welding academy” seem to cover everything I’d need…but it’s hard to know if these courses actually give you anything prospective employers care about. For example a “City&Guilds level 2 in mma” is one course option…I’m sure it’s great n’all but just because it’s saying City&Guilds on it its hard to know if employers would say “oh wonderful” or “what’s that..”. Not being from the industry it’s hard for me to gauge if it’s worth doing over teaching myself and then begging for a start somewhere to build experience and go from there.
I’m a currently a commercial diver and stick welding is the method of choice within that world often, so that’s the main driver behind the focus on mma. Too many bills every month to consider going for an apprenticeship.
