Maybe this is in the wrong place, for this I apologise.
A year or two ago I bought a Cebora 140A secondhand with some wire and half a tank of gas. Yesterday I tried it out properly as I need to teach myself to use it for impending 1968 beetle and Sunbeam Alpine repair. However, you can imagine I need to perfect the art - only ever having welded for about a day 22 years ago (Morris Minor floor). After a few attempts I got some beads on a piece of scrap, but still had some difficulties. I need to get the hang of wire speed etc., but need some time to practice.
I had some problem though:
1. The gas kept leaking from the torch and when I releaed the trigger. Anyone any idea what this could be, or more importantly how to fix it?
2. The wire often seemed to jam in the torch / torch cable.
In addition, really how suitable is this welder for car body work? I read a thread suggesting that it might not be so good for thin metal - would I therefore be better to move it on and look for something else?
Cheers,
Andy
