cebora 180 problem

I've been having problems getting this mig to run properly recently. It's been getting it hard strike an arc but does redding and melt the wire before it welds intermittently. I've tried higher settings but it does the same thing. Any ideas on what might be causing the problem welcome. Thanks

I'd be looking for bad connections on the torch/earth or a blown rectifier diode.

New to this . I've just bought an old Cebora 180 mig for the shed.
And when I try to weld it's as if it is stuck on the spot weld mode
Can I by pass the switch.? I'm a retired truck fitter.

You Need to test the spot weld switch to see if the contacts are closed or open then change it to the opposite and try it
