Cebora 180EC help pointers needed

Hi all new to this forum but have been coming on regularly looking for pointers in what to buy.

I have today purchased a Cebora 180ec auto star.(secondhand)

I got it home and the wire feed is playing up slightly the unit had not been used for about 18months so i snipped the wire and run a new load through it but the wheel that drives the motor through seems to be slipping and this sems to be caused buy the wire on the reel getting caught as it reels off what can i do to stop this if i take the wire out of the lance feed it will obviously spring itself off the reel to release the tension when it is wound at the factory.

i have adjusted the tension on the feed wheel to see if this helps but doesnt make any difference.

Any help pointers??

Sounds like it's snagging in either the torch liner or the contact tip. Change the tip first, as it's a 50p part then if that doesn't sort it spend a fiver or so on a new liner.
If the wire is old and rusty, carefully strip the layers off until it becomes nice and shiny as rusty wire will very quickly clog a liner.
Also, when feeding the wire through to the torch, remove the tip as It will allow the wire to exit the torch unimpeded. Refit the tip afterwards.
