Does anyone have any experience on these? Is it a worthy upgrade from my Cebora 848 (140A) machine?

Are we talking MMA (stick) machines here? Not familiar with those part numbers for their MIGs.

BTW, what is the third control for? Voltage, Wire Speed and ??

Decent machine but very old...15 years+. I think Cebora (like other good suppliers) have a 10 years parts policy & then they are deemed obsolete.
The third control is a spot-weld timer.

Thanks Weldequip, as I said I am looking to upgrade my circa 1991, 140A (848), (it is great on bodywork but is running out of puff on the heavier stuff) but can't justify (convince SWMBO) that I need a Portamig or Lincoln.

Life's a comprimise :-(

You would notice quite a difference in performance with the 180 compared to your 140, not just the extra 40amps...a generally much better specified 'professional' machine. S/H welders can be like old cars though, put one thing right & something else will go

Yeah, I'm still undecided, I'll keep an eye on the bidding just-in-case.

As an aside do you know what size a Cebora 812 is, there is one for sale local to me.
