Cebora Boxer 185

Hi guys and gals I have a cebora 185 and it keeps tripping power sometimes even just pulling the trigger. Wire feeds ok trigger switch ok power lead ok

What is it tripping - mcb/rcd/rcbo?

If mcb, what rating is it?

B16 mcb but was running on a 13amp plug
I tried it a couple of times and tripped 40amp mcb in house

Mine would trip the power on a b16 at the higher settings even without the arc. The machine is still creating ocv and gives a surge of power whether your racing up or not. Does it do it on the lower settings. I swapped to a c type breaker and problem went away.

If it’s doing it on lower settings it’s probably developed a fault.
Is it tripping the b16? If not a c16 isn’t going to make a difference.

You mention that the MCB trips out only sometimes. Those welders usually have the main transformer energised all the time from the moment it is switched on, pulling the trigger would then only switch to live torch and run the wire feed motor. It should not cause the 40A MCB to trip in your house if you also have it on a 16A MCB as well. Sometimes MCB's can become faulty from my experience all too often. For your garage or workshop supply it is best to use the C curve MCB's or else you do get annoying false tripping from some power tool motors, 110v site transformers etc. If some of the time the welder works fine it could indicate that there could be a loose connection on it somewhere causing it to arc internally and trip the MCB, maybe on the welding voltage selector switches.

You are right I stand corrected, I had assumed it was just a bigger version.
