Hi, I have a cebora jaguar 200, the single phase one. I had a problem with it blowing fuses, which seems to be ok now. But now something has broke on it, it will feed wire and puts out gas but it won't arc. The wire comes out, touches the job but doesn't have enough power to melt the wire, the wire just glows and curls up. Also the Euro torch fitting on the front of the welder is getting hot. Can anyone help?

Hi had very similar probs on a welder I have , while unpluged check all the connections between rectifier and dense plugs on the front of your welder are tight you prob have a high resistive connection(loose) on the low voltage side.would also check euro socket were the cable connects to it on the threade bar thingy lol.good luck

Check also that there is not a blob of metal inside the torch shroud that is shorting the tip to the shroud and robbing the power.
Thanks for the quick reply. Which are the dense plugs? Is that the ones inside the torch connector? If so that is where it is getting hot, I tried to take it apart but couldn't work out how haha. My knowledge of electrics isn't massive, I wouldn't really know what the rectifier looked like. I could do it on a car or bike but never really messed around with electrical items unless it's something silly like a broken connection or damaged wire. I will clean the shroud properly too

Rectifier is the ally plates with thick cables going to/from it (one will go via the feed motor area to the torch). see pic of one from another machine (it's sometimes call the diode pack)
The dense plug is the one that the work ground clamp plugs into.
The welding power is taken from the diode pack through a thick cable around the feed motor and onto the brass tube that the wire feed up. The torch connection to this welding power is made through the big stub that sticks out from the plug on the end of your torch (will usually have a nut that hold the liner in).
If any of the connections is loose then as tinker jim was indicating this will cause a poor connection and resistance and so a hot spot. Give the cables a wriggle and you might see some movement.

Dinse plug will be on the front of your mig were you plug and twist you earth lead in .check clean file sandpaper to get a good connection and get it tightened up good.also check your euro torch is screwed up tight on front of mig .let's hope you get it going again.
I had a go tonight, checked all the wiring and continuity where I could but had no luck so it's off to the shop tomorrow. The torch fitting got hot within a few minutes and there is a hot melting smell from the wire rollers somewhere. Had the side cover off too and blew all the dust out but that made no difference haha

Are you using a wire basket type spool of wire ?
Failing that could be the insulation for the feed motor is broken/breaking down and allowing shorting. Look at pic and you will see that the feed motor assembly is isolated from the chassis. So if you metered between the feed roller area and the chassis/frame (between the two X's) of machine you should NOT see a low resistance but an open circuit.
Note some feed units are made of plastic so may no need insulators.

If euro socket/fitting is getting hot that's most likely arcing there so probably close to your problem.in the pic above the round brass cylinder has a thick cable sandwiched between to nuts on a threaded shaft check that's good and tight.that cable carries your welding current to the socket and in turn on to your euro torch.
