Hi I am a new member to forum looking for help, welder seems to be down on power,when welding gas and wire are feeding ok, power does increase when turning switch over the 7 settings but just producing high build poor results with a lot of spatter really just melting wire no penetration to metal, I am using argoshield light, any help and advice is appreciated

Couple things to check here: assuming that the wire speed is not faulty and stuck at maximum (if it is - pcb fault), follow the earth lead inside the machine. Under some black heatshrink tube is a simple nut/bolt connector that joins to the transformer wiring. If this area looks like its got hot, strip and remake the connection. If that's ok, probable cause of your fault is the main rectifier. Check this for connection tightness, then look for any signs of burned diodes. Each diode has a thin wire on top, joining it to others. These break if a diode fails and gives low power - replacement is the only fix. Finally, make sure central bolt through rectifier is nice and tight as the rectifier internal connections rely on this to squeeze all the parts together.

Thanks for your help, have checked all areas you recommended and found four diodes blown. Will now need to find source for diodes, are these easily changed or would it be better to replace the full rectifier ?
Hopefully that should cure the fault and will no longer have any excuses for poor quality welds

Replacing diodes is a pain - the rectifier needs dismantling and reassembling exactly right or new diodes don't help. These are press fit diodes which are also difficult but not impossible to fit and you need to identify the polarity correctly as they are not the same on all the plates. Best bet is to order a new one if you have a local Cebora dealer. Wilkinson Star are the main importer but will not sell direct the public sometimes you can get part numbers from them and then order from your nearest stockist.
Probably not worth making one either as Cebora have their own weird way of hanging an extra couple of diodes onto a separate plate to feed the choke.
