Cebora panther 180

hi guys long time since I last posted here, quite shocked at my previous posts and my welds haha

Anyway I work in and engineers now and looking to buy a welder for myself, we have a couple ceboras at my work and noticed a guy selling a panther 180

Offered him £100 and he's accepted it

These machines good? Any known faults?

Looks in good condition but the guy dosnt know anything about it, (was his fathers)

i dont know any thing about them but from a quick google search

one sold for 160 in an auction house one on gumtree for 230 and

£300 it is 160 not 180 version but assume its just the amps differnt as looks the same

from a quick search the wire speed do suffer from problems but can be fixed for around £65

but do get someone to test it as i belive an older unit so might have problems getting parts if needed but as its older unit i assume tranformer unit so if goes wrong should be fixable

Cheers will be giving it a good test first anyway

I did see something about the wire speed so will definitely be checking that

prob would help others if you can add to the thread your power supply and what you will be welding to see if it suits your needed

Just standard power into the garage but this uses a standard plug anyway dosnt it?

It'll be used for car panels but I want it to be able to weld larger box section etc

you will have to cheak the power supply and you will prob only be able to to get to 150 poss a little less as its a tranfomer type as they take more power

i would think 5mm it would do full tilt at 180
