cebora pocket 130 wire feed bearing

Ok so my welder was and is messing about on the feed etc, I opened it up for the first time in ages ( I do not do a lot of welding untill MOT man fails the car ! ), I noticed there was grease on the wire feed mchanism and so I pulled it apart to find out why, I then noticed that the bearing that sits on top of the wire had only one bearing seal !, unless it is a open bearing in a gearbox or such I always believed that bearings had two seals to keep grease in. Well as a mechanic I have never seen a bearing in this kind of application with one seal anyway.

No wonder the feed is messed up and the weld naff, might be a time to check yours.

mine is exactly the same. you can buy them with only seal. im going to replace mine as its a bit growley / noisey but more than likely get a fully sealed one.

i have jus aquired a pocketmig 110, and my wire feed bearing has disintegrated, where are you going to get one from, and will yours be the same as mine?

Or... i was thinking of using something like a skateboard wheel bearing as an equivalent

need to either get the number off the side if its still got a cover or get some dimensions of it and post back on here. need the outside diameter, inside diameter and thickness. the last bearings i bought for a motorbike gearbox came from some engineering supplies shop about 500yds from work

or you could just get a new gearbox and motor assy delivered next day

wow... thats silly money for a motor an 2 plastic gears.

also, its the other roller, which is apprently called a 'clapper roller assembly' that i need, the motor drive is fine.

Well, it is now its all been re greased

for mine on snap mig 130 its 22mm OD, 7mm ID, 7mm Race Width which if double sealed would be SKF part no. 627-2RSH

got a bearing on its way to me now, think i may have got one with an ID too big... never mind. Am going to have to drill the inner race off the spindle tomorrow, ill make it work

you should be able to get the spindle out with either a press or a blow torch
