Had this pocket mig 883 for many years and its worked really well, its only used as a hobby welder as I've got access to a very nice 380V at work.
A few months ago I managed to break the clip/holder which the reel sits on.
After trying various bodges to get some kind of tension on the reel I've come to the conclusion the its probably time to replace it (the holder not the welder). The problem is that its not only just the reel holder its the complete back panel as its a moulded plastic panel which everthing connects onto.
Tried the local welding supplies but they said its not worth replacing as its so old .... not sure if that was a sales ploy or he was just plain ignorant to the fact that it was working perfectly untill recently. Just because its old doesnt mean it needs replacing.
Anyway does anyone know if or where it is possible to get this plastic panel from.
Cheers.
Jo
