Cebora Pocket Turbo 130 Eurotorch help.

Hi guys, I've recently acquired a Cebora Pocket Turbo 130 with a broken torch (Previous owner had cut it off??) after attempting to fix it without success i looked into buying a eurotorch conversion kit.

Now I've fitted the eurotorch adapter plate, brass block etc. etc.. The problem lies with the gas solenoid, I'm unsure on where to wire the thing up to.

Earth is done, earthed to the factory earth location which leaves me with the brown and blue wires, i understand the blue is neutral and brown is live, just need to figure where to wire them too I.E 240v location after the on/off switch?

I'm hoping some kind soul on this forum can help me, I've taken a couple pictures to make things a little easier.

Your help would be appreciated.

Never seen inside one of those welders,looks copper wound on the transformer with a proper contactor,,.the contactor Rtb is referring to is the white block,when energised the black bit in the middle moves inwards...its a remote switch...one side the wires will be live(with power switch to on)... the other side of the block will switch on or off depending if the black bit is out, (or has been pulled in)..this is the side which feeds the power switches and torch ....if you are not confident with a meter ,getting a hand is a good idea ......Roger jump in if I explained it wrong

Thanks! Your right it is copper wound, but also has two small white/blue wires coming from the back of it, guess i can tap into those when i find out which is which.

the switch leads go 1 to the euro torch connector, together with the feed from the transformer. the other switch lead goes to the connector a1 on the little board.

the gas solenoid is wired to the two contactor feeds (the small wires on the contactor)

there are some pics in my albums on this site. i added a purge switch so it looks a little more complicated.

p.s. doesn't really matter swich war round as its ac but the brown would be on the side from the power selector switch and the blue to go with the feed from the pcb

Gav explains it well, the wires you are looking for will be connected to the contactor with screws (most likely) and lead on to the power switches on the front panel.

From the photo it looks like the white block has one side exposed to the panel, not sure why it should. If I had the thing in front of me it would be a two minute job, but you really need someone who knows the machine or who can recognise the various components.

Edit - Rik's got it, he's using the power supply to the contactor to operate the solenoid because the contactor operates from mains voltage too.

In case you haven't sorted this, the brown sleeved cable indicated by a yellow circle shape supplies the contactor, (underneath the brown sleeve mine were pink and purple IRC)

where the green circle is, that's where one of the wires connects to the contactor, the other wire connects in the same position/way on the bottom of the contactor, to get at the screws for pinky and purpley

undo the 4 screws indicated by the red dots, and lift or move the 4 pronged metal thing this will allow you to see and undo where the pink and purple wires connect, just strip back you gas reg wires a little and screw them into the connector one at the top and one at the bottom

the bottom will be tricky, well it is for my sausage fingers

primey managed to sort it.

the welder has the two selector switches transposed.

posibly when worked on in prior fault.

Thanks for the help guys, managed to sort it in the end. Think who ever owned it before me for some reason had managed to get wires muddled up?

Re-wired the whole machine using the diagram on the net.
