Cebora pocket turbo 130 - Gasless conversion

Hi, has anyone tried to convert one of these to gasless, I may be wrong but I am changing it over to Euro torch at the moment, If I add a second 24v PSU and a DC Motor drive controller that comes on via the switch in the gun the same power feed could feed in to a relay and then in to the contactor.
This would then allow me to add some kind of screw terminals inside the welder to allow the leads to be changed over depending on what I am welding.
Would this work?

I don't pretend to understand what it is you're trying to acheive but, in my opinion, gasless is really not the way to go.

As far as I know all you need to do for gassless is swap the output polarity?

If you are fitting a Euro conversion then just run the power & earth connection to dinse sockets on the front panel and make up a short changeover cable.

Have a look at pictures of a ewm picomig 180 as one example of how they do it.

Thanks, does it not matter that the Cebora uses the welding feed as the wire feed switch ? I did not want to back feed the wrong polarity in to the relay and control. Looking a newer units the switch is a separate feed

I'm assuming you could just connect the one side of the torch switch thats normally fixed to the torch lead to the positive side of the rectifier instead (the side normally going to the torch as its gas only standard), that way the polarity of that doesnt change since you're swapping it over downstream of the rectifier.

If your converting it to a euro torch you'll have to do something like that for the conversion anyway

Thanks that's a interesting way of getting around it moving the switch to that side of the machine and as I am doing the Euro conversation it would be quite easy to implement I had not though of doing it that way
