cebora /snap on 130 wire feed upgrade

Hi peeps,my cebora 130,well over 25 years old has what looks like a windscreen washer pump motor for wire feed,whilst going through my boxes of "stuff" today i found another motor and feed assembly that looks like a windscreen wiper motor,no idea what it,s off so my q is, if it will fit in the casing,will it work ?.
just tested the motor and runs on a 12 volt battery.

Check that it runs in the right direction. If it has field coils swapping the connections to the motor won't reverse it, if it has a permanent magnet you'll be OK.

One thing to be aware of is that the motor (and it's housing) needs to be insulated from the frame of the machine. When you take off the original it MAY have insulation or it might use that fact that the housing is plastic. So you may have to use some nylon bushes (for bolts) and a plate of resin board (aka pcb type material) Meter between the motor asy and machine chassis before applying power!

yup,there are 2 thick plasticy sheets to isolate it,cant go outside yet as it,s blowing a gale and my garage door would be in the sea pdq

Think the original is likely to be 24V DC not 12

oh well,the new one is too big to fit in the case so as you were
