Is the above tig welder any good?

i acquired one today.

it come with tig torch a box 15 of various size tungstons some for ali some for steel, 3 2.5l 200bar argon bottles all full, full size regulator nice pair of near new gloves, about 200 welding rods mix of ali mild and stainless.

all for the grand total of £80 yes thats £80 english pounds!!

all i have to do now is learn how to use it. i have nvq level2 in mig and gas welding and am told tig is similar to gas lets hope so.

does anyone know where i can get a map for working one of these things.

If it's working A1 at 80 quid you've got an absoloute steal If it's not, and it's something serious like a mother board at fault, be prepared to throw another few hundred at it!

You'll be able to do most light duty work with it; mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium etc. in TIG & MMA (Stick).
Post a picture of the control panel if you are struggling with what the knobs & dials do.

He has told me the story and it is completely legit. I will leave it to Ash to explain if he wants to though.
Even he didn't realise quite what a bargain he'd got until he checked up on the kit!

I've seen those go for silly money on Ebay, anything like that with a good, well known name seems to get a good price.

this is as simple as i can make the story. a chap i know from my flying club had it and was offering it round to people in the club.

he got it when his farther passed away a couple of years ago and it had been sitting in his garage collecting dust. he said he had no use for it as they have one at work the same and i could have it for £80 to save him the bother of having to put it on ebay.

im not sure if he knew what it was worth but i wasnt going to ask and to be honest at the time i didnt know it if was cheep junk or something good until i asked you guys. i worked on the theory that for £80 what ever it was it had to be worth a punt.

im off out side to shape some tungstens to have a play

he also has got two big old fashond laythes and a band saw i think he wants rid of if anyone wants one but they were all 3 phase so no good to me.

not that lucky all the time. the engine on my pride and joy blew up last month thats gonna cost more than a tig welder to fix :-(

I have the same TX 150AC/DC , but mine is broken, and some parts are missing. I need little help from you. I need a picture from the inside of the inverter, for the small PCB board located on the right side of the inverter. If you want to help me, I will explain you how to remove the plastic covers of the inverter.
