Currently working on a 1945 stationary engine and thought this may be of interest.
It is hopper cooled, so has a finned "radiator" on top full of water which circulates by thermosyphon.
Being used to today's precision CNC milled slots it was nice to see how they did it then, just a series of holes chain drilled to connect the water jacket to the hopper.
