had been using b&d workmate (slow and tips over)..jamming against fence(not good)..and just sawing on top of wood pile(unsteady)..i decided i needed something better, was going to make simple trad saw horse or buy cheap metal one....anyway whilst looking on ebay/youtube i noticed a different type, quite fancied one but not at £70 approx, so had ago at making one using angle iron ,box steel(from an office chair)4x2 timber, threaded rod and assorted nuts bolts and washers, surprisingly it works a treat,self adjusts from1" to12" dia and i had a 5m 8x3 timber in it with me sitting on the end! great to work at a comfy height and no need to re clamp or adjust.. think i will make a lighter/smaller one, maybe from alloy to make it more mobile,

anyway well chuffed for the under £5 it cost in materials!

yeah that looks good,holds plenty logs, suppose its too limited a market or specialised for them..but if you want or need one......

what they mean is theres not enough return proffit to invest in . what makes me laugh is they want made up figures of projected proffit over 3 years its all sh..ite anyhows u either make it or u dont. i got 40 quid a week startup in buisness wow they asked what was my plan. i just replied work all the hours and get the money in .buisness advisors are a load of toss

i know..just cause you project figures doesnt mean they are achievable...you just make em, up!

I bought one on ebay for £30 delivered, like yours but made of heavy 50x25 RHS and I'm modifying it as I go along. Next move is to take one side out and fit the grips like you have instead of the one on now which you have to undo two wing nuts and move by hand. I took the bottom spikes off as they just got in the way when trying to slide wood in and they don't do anything useful, it works perfectly without them. The truncator is good, the lads who make it post on arbtalk and they are doing well. Apparently any publicity is good publicity even getting slagged on Dragon's Den.

yeah i nearly made that type but liked the self adjust aspect..its only after you start using them that you think of little improvements..i am thinking of bolting this one to side of shed for semi permanent use , then make another,i am thinking old aluminium ladder as a frame.....light yet strong and mobile..
