change my MIG To Arc?

Hi

OK I am unsure if this is the best place for this, sorry if not.

OK I have a MIG and I have been using it for a long time with no gas as I have been using that Gas-less Wire, it also doesn't need the trigger pressed for it to spark on contact if you know what I mean.

My feeder that feeds the wire has just fully bust on it in the middle of a progect.

I was wondering would there be any reason why I cant change the end (the gun) to the same style as a Arc and use it as a rod welder?

Any information out there on this?

Hi Madkad,mig transformers are not compatible with stick or tig as they are of the constant current variety,whereas mig is of the constant voltage variety.I believe there is some mention of this subject on this site,regards, Mick

are right, OK no problem mate, I will have to try and see if I can get parts

Tell us what machine it is and we may be able to point you in the direction of spares.
Start a new thread in the appropriate manufacturers section in 'welders and welding machines' if there is one, if not, just under the main section.
