Change wire size - change rollers? Cebora

Hi, I have a Cebora Pocket Turbo 130 which was originally my Dad's running 0.7mm wire and I believe it can run 0.6 - 0.8mm wire. I think I have a wire feed issue and wonder if it has the wrong rollers for the 0.7 wire size? Or - will the feed rollers happily feed all these sizes?

May be it has issues elsewhere - but then maybe I need to spend more time setting it up!?

What sort of wire feed problem are you having?
They only have one roller for 0.6-0.8 wire so that wouldn't be an issue.
More than likely your torch needs a service, new liner, swan-neck spring, contact tip and shroud. Look weldequip up in the members list and send him a PM, he'll sort you out with the bits you need. He also sells other parts for those ceboras including torches, gas valves etc.
One other thing is to make sure your wire is clean, any rust whatsoever will seriously affect the feeding as the dust clogs the liner. If it's rusty, strip off some layers until it's good, if it doesn't come good then bin it and put a fresh reel on.

I think the wire could be corroded, maybe a new liner etc.

I think I'll start with a new earth clamp and fresh wire tomorrow and see how I go... I had a look into a Eurotorch, maybe that could be the way forwards??

I don't think it's had much use at all, but I guess time has had it's way with it!

A new earth clamp certainly won't do any harm but no point putting new wire on without first servicing the torch...if it's had rusty wire run through it the Lining will be blocked & the new wire will still not run smoothly

If your wire has become a little rusty then you might have the same problem I sometimes get but which is easy to sort.

The rust off the wire comes off in the short flexy guide before the rollers and makes it hard for the rollers to pull the wire through, eventually grinding to a halt. What you need to do is cut a foot of wire and use it to clean the rust out of the flexy guide thing. As the rust tends to collect here, the wire is cleaner going up the rest of the liner and dosn't clog the liner as much.

It's worth a try!
