cheap compressors

hi i have bought an Aldi compressor 25 ltr 2.5hp max 8 bar and although it works fine im not sure if it will be upto what i want it to do after buying it and trying it out,
i know Aldi have an excellent returns policy and i thought i would buy it and try it and if not happy return it.
The main use it will get is spraying car panels biggest being a bonnet although i havent tried a spray gun yet just an impact driver which drained the tank quite quick.
im thinking a 3hp 50 ltr would be better suited for me and have seen one of these on ebay

I have a gravity feed gun with the same comp you have bought and it works fine for me, will do a panel ok.

I painted a whole car with one.

I now have two of them joined together in case I want more air in future.

Main limitation is the duty cycle. They don't like being used at full output for long, continuous periods.

what pressure was the gun run at mate?
2 bar?
how long does a tank full of air last when spraying?
And can you continue to spray whilst it is refilling im guessing you should be able to as i think it kicks in at about 6 bar? leaving plenty of pressure not to hinder your spraying?

I used my aldi compressor to spray my lads moped ,ran it 30-50psi,it did cut in whilst spraying but caused no problems,at that price its worth keeping ,i have another small clarke compressor as well,but the aldi still sees a lot of use ...its small enough to drag outside for tyre inflation etc ,didn't find the impact wrench very good ,partly the wrench partly the compressor,my sealey wrench produces more torque,but drains the tank quickly

When I sprayed the whole car the compressor ran almost continuously for the duration. It was a warm summer evening as I recall. It's a track car rather than concourse, but I sprayed a whole gun of paint (biggish suction feed gun) each time. Compressor provided enough air, and continues to work fine 18 months after that abuse.

As and when one of the comps dies I'll just keep the receiver coupled to the other as extra storage, maybe buy another one too - 50 or so quid a time and they have plugs on both ends so it's possible to keep connecting more and more! I forsee a frankensteins monster style 25hp 500l storage compressor bank for 500 quid. Be bloody loud though!
