Many years ago, 25+, I went with a friend to look at what was then the brand new to UK Dacia Duster 4x4. The paintwork was horrendous and dealer admitted they had to respray defects as part ot the pre delivery inspection. Now I know why it was so bad straight from the Romanian manufacturer
Years ago I had afriend who sprayed a Derby Bentley with a Celspray kit.
It looked like a ladies scent spray, and had a rubber bulb that you squeezed to provide the air. If I remember correctly it blew the air into a small glass container where the paint was ready to be atomised. I believe he used brushing Belco.
He admitted it was hell on the hand muscles and tendons. After he polished the car it looked respectable.
He later graduated to spraying Valspar thinned with petrol, we used to laugh at health and safety in the 1960s, luckily the paint went on flat which stopped the experiment. He was a heavy smoker so it was just as well.
He carried out a cracking job on a Bond minicar afterwards using a Burgess spraygun kit bought from Littlewoods catalogue. He used cellulose candy red and it was superb. This was in spite of doing it during winter using anti bloom thinners.
