Cheap skate hose reel

Just bought a SIP 3HP/150 compressor and so far very pleased with it.
I already have a couple 10m lengths of hose and thought i could do with one of those fancy retractable reel drums but dont really want to splash out for one because i dont need the extra hose and to be honest i dont need it to retract on its own either.

Has anyone ever modified garden hose reel to work with an air line. dont see why it wouldnt work as long as theres a decent free spinning air line joint for the center.

Or am i just a cheap skate and should buy a proper one!!!!

I've seen a pushfit/speedfit connector used as rotary coupling

Banjo fittings? ...I just fitted 2 mini hose reels at work bought from rs...nearly £200.....ouch ....aldi/lidl reels at £40 seem good value

without the hose for £9.99 but the offers not there any more but, still, you get the hose and bits for only £5 more.

I got tired of my airline lying in a pile/s and having to untangle them everytime. It's seems a bit lightweight for an airline but time will tell.

Haven't investigated putting a rotating fitting on it but if the normal connector won't cope then I could use another connector plugged into it at the risk of lowering the airflow.

A knuckle joint for air tools would do the job, about 10quid
