cheapo electrodes ?

i have used up all my dirt cheap SWP brand electrodes i got from screwfix a couple of years ago, they were fine for rough jobs, using an AC transformer, can anyone recomend something similar i can get now. Cheap and cheerfull.

I use an Oirlicon 7018 when i want to make myself look good.

Have a look in weldequips shop, He sells Siftrode (7018 & 6013) in 5KG packs at low prices. I've used a few boxes of these and found them to do anything you expect of them. I swear by them, but have recently switched to esab OK brand.

I use hilco red extra 6013 rods only cost £25 for a 5kg box, i find the run well and are easy to start

If you can give us a better location for yourself maybe someone knows of a local welding factor/supplier in your area.

Most suppliers sell white box sticks these days, personally, I'm using Fincord M's or Lincoln E7018 rods at the moment.

I have purchased and used these cheap rods, but I have a DC inverter which doesn't seem to have any problem burning them, but I prefer the Fincords or Lincolns.

Your Buzzbox should burn them, if your local-ish I could let you have some to try...

you need to just look at the OCV that the rod requires and what your machine does,

i have an invertor machine and have used the siftrodes recently suggested, a while ago i have some cheap rods from screw fix and a cheap buzzbox... the results were - horrendous, apart from that ive only used rods they had at college which i am unsure on the brand!

so for a cheap set of okayish rods get some siftrodes for like £15 for 5kg
