Cheapo speedglas spares?

Hi guys, does anyone know of a source of knock-off copies of speedglas plastic lens covers? They seem a lot of money for a bit of clear plastic.

Bottom of the blue toolbox sounds like a likely source for a lot of essentials. Get the scissors out and cut some from a litre pop bottle

Chunko, thanks for the kind offer. I will take you up on half of it and buy myself a pint, but I'm really looking for a source for the future, I still have a couple left for now, I just can't believe the cost of the screens.

If china can knock out cheapo plasma torch consumables, they must be able to do a plastic screen?!

Thanks for your generosity of spirit, I will keep looking for a permanent cheap source.

Same as printers and Hovers (when they used bags)

They have you hooked once you have bought the lid.

The lens covers for my Optrel aren't cheap either, so new ones get used for TIG, and once marked they get used for MIG.

I suspect the market is maybe too small to bother? That might change in the future as 3m announced a while ago that from 2013 Speedglas 9000 series will become obsolete

Al I have 6 of them in the blue tool box hiding among the knackered plasma cutter tips and tired Mig tips.
