Chinese 8kw heater

So.i opened the heater i purchased this week, it was pre owned but new in the box the only problem is it came with no instructions so is there a link to a generic instruction manual anywhere? Other than that it looks new and complete and i found a 16 amp power supply i found in my spares box so not long now till I'm warm

They're mostly plug and play.

Main things are the pump needs to pump uphill. Horizontal might work, but try and aim for at least 45degree with the fuel flow going up the way.
Advise is to replace the green fuel pipe as it isn't very durable, but it'll work for now. Better brands use nylon pipe, with rubber section and hose clips for any connections
Burner air intake is the connection with the fuel inlet nearest it.

Heating air intake is the end with the screen on it.

There is a way to prime the pump

I fitted one recently and found it all self-explanatory apart from the location of the fuel tank (there's a limit on how high the pump will draw fuel, and how high the heater can be above the pump). @fizzy has recommended them in the past - he may have more advice.

Where will you be fitting it, as you need somewhere external to vent the exhaust pipe ( I know of 3 installs, a camper vents through the floor, a prefab vents through the steel wall, a stone barn vents through the solid stone wall). The pump makes a noticable ticking noise when running, extra insulation on the mount might quieten it, Make sure the exhaust is gas-tight when done, ours had some slack fittings so I used car exhaust paste to reseal the joints. Beware the exhaust will get near red hot, route it well clear of combustible materials.

Quick cribsheet: work out where the exhaust will suit you, fit the heater in a convienient place, fit the air intake (with filter), plumb the tank-pump-heater fuel line, plug & play the wiring harness. For power, some folk use batteries, others use mains transformers. Find the instructions for priming the fuel line to remove inital air bubbles before the first live run.

All good advice, especially ditching the green fuel pipe (its too large an i/d) if you have a fuel tank a bit away- mine is around 1m away and is fine with the stock pump.
Dont forget that you can run a hot air outlet to where you need the heat. I use a 3m flexi one (bit like for a tumble drier but metal).

The definitive requirements for pipe sizes and lengths are on the Eberspacher site. They know what they are talking about, whereas the chinese tell you only the minimum basics.

If you don’t want to risk it frying itself if the mains trips while operating (it won’t do its very necessary cool-down cycle if the mains trips) run it from a suitable battery and float charger (or similar).

It is not 8kW. That is an ’in your dreams’ scenario. The 8kW Eberspacher units use a litre of fuel each hour. Go figure! Each pump stroke supplies, at most, 0.02ml - so easy to calculate how much fuel and gross energy is inputted.

35 degrees from the horizontal is the recommended pump angle, but between 15 and 45 seems the usual instruction, although upright can be tolerated. Horizontal will lead to premature pump failure.

Ideally draw your fuel from the top of the tank.

If not installed with the exhaust completely external to the heated area, obtain a CO monitor - you are a long time dead if there was to be a leak into an enclosed area.

Any properly rated fuel pipe of the correct diameter is satisfactory - but separate the fuel line well away from the exhaust (which appears to run at around 300 Celsius).

Hot air ducts need to withstand close to 100 degrees Celsius. Get the proper type is my advice. They must not be blocked/crushed.

The maximum length of exhaust allowed is 1m unless the cross sectional area is increased. Bends need to be taken into account (see the Eberspacher instructions).

There are loads of youtube videos - but some are not so clever (some even down-right dangerous) - those by John McK are fairly good.

I’m Just installing one similar to yours. Claims 5kW, but I am expecting a fair bit less than 4kW.

Faceach has a couple of very useful chinese diesel heater groups, they have files of instructions you can view, I have recently tested one before fitting once I managed to understand how to bleed the diesel by running the pump in manual it was easy

Thanks all i will be having a go at this over christmas and seeing how it goes, interesting chat came up today about installing them in old aircooled VW's and putting the outlet into the VW heater channels.

Seen it done in other vehicles so should be easy as long as no one can block the vent and stop air flow
