Are these machines usually noisy.got outs working today and it sounds more like a direct drive.

belt drive should be quieter than direct drive. is everything lubed up ok?

Can also depend on how it's mounted and surroundings, but they should be quieter than a direct drive, check the air filter and anything loose on the guard or fan

No air filter yet just sounds like its knocking.

they are loud without a filter silencer on the inlet, although knocking could be something on the guard or fan

Already checked them daz,sounds like a bottom end knock on a car engine.
