Clarke Compressor Model Number?

I have a clarke compressor pump in need of new piston rings but cannot find a model number on the pump. Machine Mart spare parts want this model number? I risked it was a CC35 and got new rings sent but they are too small. I only have the pump, no model number. It is a 2cylinder in-line pump with 70mm dia pistons.
I thought that if I sent them the sketch below it would help but they still say, Model number please.
Anyone know how I can find the Model number? Most grateful for any help. Thanks.

Do a Google or Bing search for Clarke Compressor and, for the results, choose to display images, then choose the one that looks most like yours.

Or get a Clarke catalogue and try and find the model number there. Or put an image up on here, of the one you have. Someone will come along and ID it.

It's quite likely the Clarke staff don't have access to the engineering drawings of the piston assembly.

Give someone a chance of locating an equivalent. Where are you measuring ‘thick’ and ‘deep’ from. From piston crown or on a diameter?

Width and depth of the ring grooves might be better.

Are you sure the bore diameter is not 2 3/4”?

Yes, that is how I came up with model number cc35 from an older list of Clarke compressors, thought it exactly the same as mine. I will attach some images.

Measuements of thickness and depth are from old piston rings, allowing extra for wear.
A piston measures 70mm or 2 3/4" across diameter, would expect the bores to be slightly bigger, will check tomorrow.

Ring sizes are specified by the bore size. The piston will always be slightly smaller.

I would suggest that you contact Clarke direct instead of the mostly clueless staff in MM! If you have the model no & serial no of the compressor they can tell you what pump should be fitted.

Thank you for your input. Surprisingly, We do have access to a phone instore, to enable us to contact our technical department. Who are usually very good at sorting out any problems we have. That looks to be a very old model and I know spares aren't usually kept for more than 10 years. If you have a photo of the whole thing, including the tank, that may help narrow the search down a bit.

Thank you for your input. Surprisingly, We do have access to a phone instore, to enable us to contact our technical department. Who are usually very good at sorting out any problems we have.

That hasn't been my experience so far, maybe the staff in your branch are more clued up.

That looks to be a very old model and I know spares aren't usually kept for more than 10 years. If you have a photo of the whole thing, including the tank, that may help narrow the search down a bit.

I was hoping to repair this pump and fit it onto a compressor that I am building.
I imagine this pump was condemmed and another unit installed on a compressor.
This pump had burned reed valves and stuck piston rings, so stuck on one piston that I had to break them out of the grooves. Pistons and bores seem ok and I have hmm, made new reed valves and gaskets.

Problem solved I think. I sent the above sketch/ template to the fellas at Machine Mart Spares in Nottingham and they matched it with rings for a cc40 compressor.
New piston rings should arrive soon by mail.

I have a clarke in bits waiting for time....they all look the same. Mine was shot bearings so I will have a measure up and check the model number on the tank.

I am going to be ordering a new crank for an almost brand new unit but they won't have them in stock till the end of May so I saved my money till now. Remind me if I forget to check the number on the old tank.
