Clarke compressor problems

Got a problem with my clarke compressor. Its a 10bar model and been getting worse and worse. Its not making any pressure at all now. Not had much to do with compressors but deceided to take the head off thinking it must be the pistons or bore but they seem to be ok. Pistons have no marks and the bores have very very slight scoring but (to me) seems ok. Bores seem well lubicated. Heads look ok as well. Could it be anything else?

Did you check the valves in the head at the same time? Was the gasket OK?

Is the air filter blocked? Have you nay leaks?

I take it you mean the flaps that are riveted onto the head? Yes they seem ok as is the gasket. Have not checked the air filter. Is it the little black box on the side of the head? It has a small leak on one of the outlets but nothing really always built up to its 10bar pressure.

Probably valves, those flaps as you mention, or the non-return valve in the outlet to the tank.

Don't know what type compressor you have but on some you will have a gasket under the valve plate as well as above.

Thanks for the replies. Checked the air filter, dirty but not blocked. I will give the valves a better look at and have a look for the non-return valve and check that.

My money would be on the head gasket having blown, leaking air from the high pressure side, to the air intake, ie at atmosphere..........
