Clarke Easi- Arc Welder (any good)

Ive got one cant grumble with it it does over heat now and then but that give me time to have a cuppa and a smoke while it cools down and resets and its welded all that ive asked it to weld

whats the duty cycle on it, the one im looking at is the 150 amp one, i thinks it 160e model. cheers

Ive got the 160e model and ive yet to overheat it,the max ive run is 2.5mm rods but its done everything ive asked of it so id recommened it for a basic welder for home use etc.

not got the manual any more so not sure of duty cycle. but i usually get 5 or 6 rods done one after another before the cut out kicks in but if i take it steady not a problem.Im thinking of adding a fan to it

very good buy. i had one which i have just recently sold. was a brill little welder.
cant remeber what the duty cycle was. think it was 25% @150amps and 100% at 80-90.
fitting a fan is quite a simple job. i remeber it being quite light about 15 kg.
get a different electrode holder and an earth clamp and you will be well away

thanks for the reply, picked it up yesterday, finished of making dome car ramps with it this afternoon, and well happy with the out come. ive put different elec holder and clamp on as a defo. burning 3.2 6012s, never used them before, not bad, looks like deep penetration rods?

just been given a sip 140 arc welder today as well, lol it looks like a real old one, had one of those 1980s plug on it, those rubber looking things. lays quite a decent bead down, i was supprised.

you will be looking at 25% increase i think. thats a guess. what vthickness material you welding with the 3,2's

i restore trailers, build them and convert as a hobby. so realy i say 3- 8ml, i had a oxford oil cooled that recently died that was i deal, it looks like i might get another one soon, so this old box will have to do for now. cheeers
