Hi everyone,
Only began welding recently after being given an old budget stick welder. Getting on ok with it (some slag issues...), and had been thinking of moving on to MIG at some point down the line...
But then spotted this for sale on my doorstep: Clarke MIG105EN and have been trying to weigh up wether it might be worth a punt at a £110.
Have seen comments elsewhere on this forum that this would be a half decent entry level welder for someone doing a car repairs. But most of my welding projects aren't anything that I think would be put under the sort of stresses automotive welds would be.
Recently it's been box section and square tubing for furniture; got to do some hand rails / bannisters for around a mezzanine at home soon; and I've also just knocked together some hook on plate style gate hinges out of 10 & 8 mm (see pic).
Could I get away doing jobs like this with the Clarke machine? It's spec (again see pic) says it'll cope with up to 2mm gasless.
Cheers.
