Hi guys,

Looking for a compressor to use in my garage, some spraying, impact gun stuff etc.
Spotted a Clarke Air Raider 15/1000 so it's a displacement of 14.5 CFM and a 100L tank for £200, what do you think??

I used to use a SIP twin direct drive with a similar output but a 50 litre tank and it did everything I needed for many years. It powered a ratchet and painted a few cars with HVLP gun at 30psi but it struggled with any rotary tools like die grinders. I replaced it on a whim with the Wolf belt drive with a similar output because it was on offer for £200 from a local shop. If it does what you need and the price is good for you then no problem but only you can make that decision ultimately.

I pushed the boat out, thanks to advice on here. Best thing I ever did. Comparing my friends direct drive running at 1850 rpm, and my belt drive that runs at 1250 rpm is chalk and cheese. So, so glad I took this advice.

Only thing I would say is, the Company is not the best imo for customer care. I bought 2 big trolley jacks, one had a very iffy release valve. Having 2 gave me the advantage, to clearly see one was faulty. A tough battle to get them to pick up and refund! They seemed unaware of the distance selling act!
- personally as I want stuff to last, I would be looking at Nuair, Abac, Clarke, or the Wolf one on here. IMO sometimes its worth paying a few extra £ for backup.
But maybe others have had a different experience. A machinist near me said he had heard of similar experiences ... “ if they work the customers are happy. If it has a problem, good luck with that.”
Especially if they try and make you pay return delivery. These are big heavy items, that need careful shipping. And for an individual without a volume agreement that will cost you dearly!

I'd there any that people recommend? Won't be uses to offern, used to spray paint, some DA and ratchet etc
