Clarke raider piping

Hi all,

I have a clarke raider 100l compressor. I am looking at piping up my garage for it. I have a couple of questions regarding the best method.

It has a 1/4" bsp fitting for the hose, so I guess anything over 15mm pipe work would be a would not be of any benefit. However, I've seen some on here who have it connected via one of the inspection holes on each end. Is there a part I can buy to do this, the inspection fitting looks quite large.

I have also wondered about the gauges, as this will be under a bench, it won't really be possible to see them, so is it possible to move them, or can I just fit another onto the airline without compromising anything?

Best bet is to fit a 1/2 inch tap directly on the receiver and pipe from this to a regulator filter, I used 22mm from receiver to where I needed air then dropped 15mm pipe from a water trap tee into a 1/2 inch bsp regulator filter, then hi flow pcl connector to my 10mm hose for the air tools, never had a problem and no noticeable pressure drop. Just put a drop leg in as well to remove water. The 1/4 fittings off the existing regulator are a bit of a restriction.

I did exactly as Daz suggested above, except I have joined 2 50 litre compressors together from the receivers and my entire run is 15mm. Would be better with 22mm as Daz has used up to the filter/regulator. If you get a filter/reg with 2 outlets you can have one for clean air (spraying) and one for air tools with an oiler in line.

My issue seems to be that my receiver has what seems to be a 2" plug on either end. Would the sensible thing be to buy a reducing bush thatfits in place of the plug, or would it be better to drill a hole and tap one of the plugs?

if theres enough meat on the plug for the threads and u have a half inch bsp tap go for it.if not buy a reducer
