Clarke SE37C270ND tandem compressor for blast cabinet......

Hi all,
I use a Sealey 974 siphon blast cabinet to blast various car parts and alloy wheels for powder coating. I've been using a 3hp 150l ingersorand compressor that does a good job with a 5/6mm nozzle but this has given up.... Burnt the motor out ignoring duty cycle etc.... Luckily I paid nothing for it. Plan is to replace the motor and keep it for smaller jobs.
What's people's opinion on the twin motor Clarke unit ?
I'm limited to 240 single phase as its all in a workshop at home.
The 37cfm is optimistic I know but any ideas on the FAD ? The friendly machine mart lad looked at me blank......
Also what sort of duty cycle would I be looking at with these motors ?
Any better options available to me ?
Running an inverter and 3 phase comp. has been mentioned but I know nothing about this.....

My next step is to setup a pressure pot blaster to use in the cabinet but I'll add another post for that.

2 choices buy the twin unit or buy 2 separate -14cfm comps and couple together when needed. I have a twin unit but only paid 60 quid for it and fixed it with 1 new motor - 28 cfm will run a 3mm jet no problem -

FAD works out between 25-35% less stated CFM. I don't know about duty cycle, its the heat that kills them, so keeping them cool is king

Tried a 4mm nozzle and struggled to get any pick up with 120grit alu.oxide ??

I have a decent syphon guyson lookalike gun and I use a 3mm blast jet on one of my pressurised pots the others a 6mm jet and runs on a 90cfm comp

are u talking the air jet size or the blast jet ??

4mm blast jet, doesn't pick up well. 5/6mm blasts great but gobbles air....

I've been really pleased with the dual motor Clarke compressor, having bought one of the first when they started selling them a couple of years ago.

No idea on the duty cycle, but I reckon the motors only run around 50% or less of the time when I'm using my blast cabinet.

Blast cabinet is nothing special - Clarke SB30 from Machine Mart:

It's ok, although there are a couple of changes I'll make to the pickup and nozzle at some point, but as long as the media is kept dry, it's good enough for me. I actually just picked up some castors today, as I've been meaning to put it on wheels for ages due to limited space, so that will probably be my job for the weekend to replace the legs with something more mobile.

Off the top of my head, the last few jobs were some brake calipers, some old rusty angle iron I was using to make a bench for my drill press and grinders, and the sump off a ZF Automatic Transmission.

As it happens my next job is a set of rx8 brake calipers and a set of steel wheels off a 60's beetle.....
What size nozzles are you using Endeleus ? And at what pressure ?

I have just bought this compressor while the VAT free offer was on. Before you do go ahead do some research on how it will be wired up. It requires a 45A circuit and you may not have an existing circuit it can run on. I have had mine wired up by an electrician who put in a new distribution board and an isolator to the compressor. This is a dedicated circuit and had to have heavier cable than normal (6.5mm sq i think). It's also notifiable to the DNO and the new circuit itself comes under Part P of the building regs hence why I employed a spark.

I have an SE36C270, but mine's 3-phase... bit noisy as they all are but it does shift some air.
