Combining compressors

I have a Clarke Airmaster 3HP compressor and need another to feed an air mask as well as the spraygun. I have a secondhand pro triple filter I want to use, but I can only connect one compressor through it I THINK?

Is there a safe and sensible method of perhaps linking the two tanks so that either compressor can fill to capacity?

I did this myself - click here for details - and have been very pleased with the result.

The biggest consideration is to make sure that both compressors do not cut in together. It's not hard to do - just set one pressure switch to kick in sooner than the other.

On my setup, the biggest compressor cuts in soonest - with the small one kicking in as backup as required.
