Hi All..
Up for comments good and bad I tried my first Solo SS tube weld tonight with the 1.2 mm ER3I6L rod .. Argon set to 6 amps set at 55..
Since the repair and seeing Richard it's such a great feeling to be gaining confidence everytime I pick up my torch now, I'm pushing higher and higher everytime now.. No way are things as I'd like No but I can honestly see I'm on the up and really enjoying the ride..
This is 3mm marine grade SS picture one is just after completion of capping the end of pipe off with a 3mm SS end cap.. Wobbly yes as I still struggle to see, also short little runs before stopping via post gas and rotating tube a little before going again.. Still a bit grey!
Pic Two is with weld brushed over via wire brush...
Pic Three is a small part of bead ground via flap disc to see penertration..
Overall very pleased, but as always looking to improve..
