comp and gun combo

I think its ok but I just want to get reassurance before i start to part with my hard earned.
I am looking to do some spraying in 2 Pack. So will be getting 2 compressors, 1 to power the gun and one to supply a mask.

My Q is, will the ABAC B3914 be meaty enough to power the DeVilbiss FLG5 gun.

The maths says its possible, but the compressor will run constantly once the receiver pressure drops.
What are you spraying? If you were respraying a car for example, you may struggle a bit. If it were a single car panel then no problem.

Have a search on here re the FLG5, there were some opinions posted.
The Iwata wossname is similar but a bit less air reqs. AZ3 I think? Similar price. No idea how it is though.

Cheers Chipper for the AZ3 suggestion will have to have a dig around elsewhere to see what people think as the thread here quickly gets sidetracked into the finer details of painting waterbased . It uses 7.5cfm which is a good bit less than the FLG5 requirements so I guess will be easier on the comp.

Gun consumption varies depending on air cap size (part of the 'set up' for each paint type) these can usually be found via google

How quickly the pressure drops depends on how much air you are using. I have a 150 litre receiver and use a gun that consumes around 8 cfm and the pressure drops within a couple of minutes.
The motor running continuously isn't necessarily a problem, but you wouldn't want it running all day. I wouldn't be happy to run my compressor for more than 15 minutes or so before I gave it a good cool down period. Like any tool, the harder you use it, the quicker it will wear out/break.

look for a good hvlp gun (high volume low pressure) you can easily spray a car and run your airfed mask with 15 cfm comp new hvlp guns use far less air than the old style syphen guns. just pipe the comp so it draws fresh air from outside
