comp problems, need help

The black pipe in the pic burst and caused a smoke screen!
Anyone have any knowledge of the problem and how to repair??
Would it have been low on oil and over heated the pump??

Basically your machine is an oil injected screw compressor, and that pipe comes off the top of the air/oil separator. The just use the air pressure to recycle the lube oil back round to the air inlet side of the screws via a nozzle.

I don't know what the particular pipe does, where does the other end go?
Did the machine have enough oil in the compressor side? Normally there is a sight glass on the separator.

It looks like the pipe was poorly routed as well.
The fitting that it goes into looks like it should turn 180*....you still might have enough good pipe to fit it back on, if you can rescue the olive.
