Complete newbie, hzxvogen mig 185ii

Hi guys is really appreciate some help.

A friend of a friend has kindly given me a new, albeit cheap, Chinese MIG welder to learn on.

The name is in the title.

Problem is it's come with instructions that are impossible to read. I've looked at a few videos I could find but I'm none the wiser. The MIG torch has another cable coming from the main MIG torch, and I have no idea whether that plugs into the negative terminal or the positive one.

It also has Tig torch and welds MMA. Now I'm sure it's not going to be brilliant but it will get me started and it was free. But I just don't know how to set up the connections for each different type of welding.

If you could help that would be great.

Welcome. That looks a lot better than many, a small inverter with Euro torch.

The leads enable dual polarity, so you can use flux cored (aka 'gasless') wire with the torch lead negative and work return lead ('earth clamp') positive.
For gas use, this is reversed.

Many many thanks, so the picture attached is setup for gas use, and id need to swap them over for flux cored is that correct ?

Also any idea on the Tig torch configuration ?

Yep that's right. The legend above is also indicating that.

I don't do TIG, so best wait for someone else on that part.

For TIG, it's normally DCEN (DC current, electrode negative), except for aluminium, which is normally AC

?? Not sure I understand that. Did that mean the Tig torch good into the negative port and the ground clamp into positive ?

I've been looking but there are different sizes and not sure where to start.
