Hi all I have joined for advice tips and help I basically only want to weld for car repair and modification my questions are

What type of welder is best for this 3mm is the thickest metal I will be working with

What equipment do I need to start welding

Welcome to the forums

You want a welder that can do from 30 to 130 amps. The Clarke models are most often recommended. A welder with more range would even be better.

You'll need a helmet, gauntlets, wire, tips and gas. Note: the welders often come with a handheld shield that is near useless.
