Compressor acting strange

Hi guys,

I have an SIP Airmate 250Ltr compressor and when its getting to the end of its compression cycle, it slows down to about half pace as if its having to work really hard to get to 110psi and the belt starts slipping. Think its just the belt thats at fault here?

it must be the belt or something with the pump the motor obviously has the power to make the belt slip

I've had this problem on my Clarke with a slack belt. Tighten the belt first before looking for more expensive faults!

I'll check the tension, just still doesn't really make sense does it? Its as if its under massive strain, which causes the belt to slip. I'll check it anyway.

check the pulleys arent worn and same for the belt , i use belt dressing on all of mine it gives 30 percent more grip even on new belts

I see where you're coming from, but I had exactly the same and tightening the belt fixed it. Also make sure the belt isn't worn and shiny or sitting in the bottom of the pulley groove.

You could check the pressure in the tank with another gauge, just in case yours is reading low and the cut-out is set too high.
