Compressor Advice

I’m looking at getting an air fed mask setup and have narrowed down my choice of compressor to these 2 below, both are 3hp 14cfm belt drive.

The Sylbo has a 100Lt tank the Wolf 90 but the Sylbo is £120 more than the Wolf the difference would buy the mask or go some way towards the triple filters. I’ve always been a bit wary of the build quality of Wolf stuff but would this Sylbo be any better is it worth paying the extra?. I would only put the compressor to light use a couple of times a year.

Given that air fed masks seem to want at least 5cfm, out of the approximately 9 cfm FAD (free air delivery) it won't leave a whole lot of air for the spray gun, so you'll either need to be careful with choice of low air consumption gun or may want to allow for a second compressor for separating the duties.

I've not done it myself, but this is where I got to when contemplating a 2k set up.

Anyone managing to run a 3hp machine to feed mask and gun together?

One of the things that makes me nervous on this set up is running the machine hard continuously, with other high consumption tools, you often give the machine a bit of a rest as you wait for the paint to dry, finish grinding or spinning off nuts. The mask will pull it's volume of air for however long you need to breath!

Yeah I have a 14cfm comp and you will not run an airfed and mask together with it.

Why don't you buy them both and do a like for like review???? Then you'll have enough air!

I missed giving the extra information in my orginal post but this compressor will just be for the air feed mask only I currently spray with a HVLP turbine system. In the past I borrowed a friends compressor when I needed to do some spraying a 14cfm ABAC. I have my own Devilbiss mask and Kestrel triple filter set but It's time I got my own compressor instead it's costing me too much to keep my mate in beer :-)
