Done that just under the level it should beCheck the oil level in the pump
Compressor was new it's the first time I've used it since I sand blasted my outbord a month ago and I'm almost positive it's oilIs it oil or emulsion? Did you get the compressor new?
Definitely oil then it's a direct drive piston compressorEmulsion will be white. What type of compressor. Piston? Screw?
It's in the middle of the dot like the instructions say and would that mean loads of air coming out the breather last time I used it sand blasting it stated leaking oil every where from somewhere around the bottom of the cylinders but it stoppedIs there a sight glass for the oil level on the pump? This is usually a round "window" with a red spot in the centre. On some compressors the red spot denotes the normal level, on some the minimum. Check with the manual, someone may have overfilled the pump.
I'd keep a close eye on it, if there are leaking piston rings oil could blow past into the tank, you would also notice the crankcase breathing heavily.
If you have oil in the tank and oil leaked from around the bottom of the cylinder and now the oil level looks good, that would point to the compressor originally over full of oil. It's in the middle of the dot like the instructions say and would that mean loads of air coming out the breather last time I used it sand blasting it stated leaking oil every where from somewhere around the bottom of the cylinders but it stopped
It shouldn't have been over filled it's the oil that came in it when I got it from the shop last yearIf you have oil in the tank and oil leaked from around the bottom of the cylinder and now the oil level looks good, that would point to the compressor originally over full of oil.
I'll give it a run tomorrow and see what happens^^ they could have got it wrong at the shop.
If the oil level is now correct after losing some then it must have been overfilled.

It's definitely leaking oil I went out this morning and it was empty so I filled it up and half of it has gone in 15 minutes of using it
It is a nice change I think I'm going to use it as a air tank and strip the motor and pump for sparesNice to hear of good customer service.
