compressor and 100 foot hose

just got a new compressor
150l 9 bar 3hp 14cfm 220v 16a

i want to run it in a shed i have rented but the shed has no proper electricity basically i have been running the shed from an extension cord from another shed about 100 feet away
now i dont want to run it from the extension cord so i did a search and found this reasoning

so am i right in thinking thats i could run it beside the powered shed and run a 100foot 1/2 inch hose to the other shed with an minimum of presure loss.

or am i fighting a lossing battle i want to run a sander,cutter,drill and spray

I have a similar situation and Ive run a 25mm MDEP from one shed to the other, mine is underground though, the MDEP pipe is rated for 12 bar.

Connect the compressor end directly to the receiver and put the regulator at the shed end. Run it at the maximum safe pressure for the compressor.

dont forget to put a shut off valve on reciever in line eg gate or ball valve to isolate pipework .it would be preferable to keep pipework above ground otherwise it would eventualy fill with water and no way of draining it

Theres no problem draining the pipe of water with a reciver full of air on one side and an open ball valve on the other side.

yes u can blast it out but the water will build up in the pipe reducing the bore . u cant compress water so it will restrict airflow eg volume so best not let it settle there in 1st place

But hes only got 14cfm comp like I have and I have at least a 100 yard run and absolutely no probs at all.

I run quite a distance to a shed myself using half inch pipe. The last workshop on the line is probably about 40m from the compressor.

For the water trap problem make sure the pipe runs downhill and put a riser with a drain at the bottom at the far end before the regulator. The water flows/is pushed into the drain and you can drain it off. Not perfect for underground pipes granted. Amazingly a one inch bore pipe half filled with water, or whatever, still has twice the cross sectional area of a half inch pipe!

the one inch was just as a rough guide any restriction in bore reduces volume

The pipe shouldn't fill with water anyway, it would get blown along with the airflow.
