Compressor Bleed Pipe Olive

i managed to remove the rusted in adapter from my compresor last night but as i was using heat i removed the plastic bleed pipe that runs right by it as i didn't want to melt it.. However the olive ring had been crushed that much that it was impossible to get the pipe out and bacsically to cut a long story short the end of the plastic pipe got stuck in the hole and wouldn't come out but eventually did but i ned a new olive as this one is ******ed.

howvere i spoke to SIP and the part is only £1.24 but P&P is £8!! now i refuse to pay that, the lazy robbing gits!! do you think the olive will be a standard fitment?

the plastic tube has a small top hatted cylinder that goes in the end of it to give it some internal resistance when the olive is tightened i guess. and there is a tapered face that the olive is pressed against when the hollow nut is tightened against it

Bound to be, what size is the pipe. A mains house gas fitting may fit

I've got loads of olives, (but not those fittings) if you want to call round (with the pipe) maybe I can find something to fit.

An alternative would be to fit push-fit connectors so the job is easier next time. You're bound to want to change the non-return valve or the pressure switch at some point!

I think gas pipe is bigger than that - these people do one with slightly more reasonable postage charge (haven't checked if there is a minimum order). Suggest you try plumbing outlets near to you.

Yeah it looks a bit of a funny shape (kinda barrel shaped with short tapered edges on either end rather than sloped from the middle hence why i wasn't sure if it was a compressor specific one

push fit connector is a good shout, i guess it would need to be rated to take the full take pressure though?

theres a plumbbase on the same business park where i work i think i'll pop down there in a bit and see if they have anything suitable.

Look for a pneumatics supplier or possibly hydraulics, some of them also stock pneumatics.
