Compressor blowing curses help

My compressor started blowing fuses so I started to investigate without belt on it runs fine motor side minute you put belt on the motor tries to move then blows a fuse?. It's quite stiff to turn the pump by hand should it be like this?

sounds to me you have a seized motor or its unloader valve not opening on a refill if empty its a seized motor and also check your valves on them

no its not meant to be like that if stiff to turn at that look at the cams

Can you please upload a picture of the valves, is the white residue on the piston tops Paint dust?

Has the pump got any oil in it? To me looks like oil on top of The pistons. Possible broken rings or worse, big end damage

Next question is if I replace pump does it need to be the exact same one?

You know the cams, the ones that spin the supercharger....

Looking at the picture I'd say whatever is on the tops of the pistons shouldn't be there. Looks like alloy filings or if it's paint dust it ain't done it much good.

It should turn over very easily with the head off like that, if it's tight then it's toast I'm afraid.

doesn't need to be the same model and make as long as the pulley sizes and speed of pump are the same and it will fit on the mounting plate. u may have to alter the outlet pipe to tank
