Compressor comparison

Was looking at compressors on the internet today(basically for something that may be a bit quieter than my big Compair to stop my neighbour complaining about the noise).I put a wanted ad on here yesterday but nothing so far.I came across these two compressors and theyre more or less identical.Emax is an American manufacturer so I can only assume these are a cheaper low end version made in the same far eastern factory as the Sealey.The Sealey ad says theyre quiet in operation????(direct drive).I wondered if the Emax ones as quiet as if its the same machine its £50 cheaper?

I think SIP are doing some deals on compressors at the minute, a christmas special, might be worth a look. They do some 'quiet' models as well.

iff its noise you dont want matey then ide stay clear of the new fast turning pumps and try find a large displacment old cast iron compressor like a Broom Wade...the old cast iron thumpers turn much slower but still bang out decent CFM without the "screaming under the bench" senerio

keep your eye out for a second hand belt driven number, or does it have to be as small as a 50ltr tank?

id agree with the above direct drive very noisey
