Compressor for plasma cutter

Hi all,

I have been putting my hand to a bit of welding making stuff for myself cheaper than what i can buy it in my spare time, and i really enjoy it.

But i have run out of stuff that i need building so i have been looking at plasma cutters for doing garden silhouettes for in my garden this year. I will be needing all the gear and i have seen the east wood plasma with pilot arc for £375 from frosts it appears to be the cheapest out there with a good torch not one with the tie wraps holding on the button, i am wanting a compressor to run this i will not be needing a compressor for anything else really but we all find other thing to tinker with so who knows.

My question is are the machine mart boxer range any good because im looking at two the clarke boxer 14/150 belt driven unit and the clarke industrial sev11c i want to buy a good compressor one that i can leave in the corner and forget about until i need it not worry about it breaking.

Any input would be great

I have the exact same question, I'm suddenly in the market for a compressor to run my plasma cutter with. A belt driven one makes a more bearable sound, and thats about the extent of what i know at this point. time to get reading.
